Modern Self Storage is a new business situated between Sosua and Cabarete on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic. As the name suggests, it is a self storage facility with several unit sizes, as well as covered and uncovered vehicle spaces.

They describe their site as:

A new website about Surfing in the Dominican Republic, has just gone live with it’s website and Facebook Page.

Focusing and reporting on the sport of surfing from the Caribbean Island of Hispaniola, Dominican Republic Surf, aims to be your one stop shop for surfing and Dominican vacation information.

Dominican Republic Surf is a guide to surfing in the Dominican Republic, with hotel and vacation information, surf forecasts, photos, videos, news and recommendations on the best surf camps and surf schools in the country.

Also check out their Facebook page to keep up to date with surfing in the Dominican Republic.

School’s a Gift charity and Facebook page

The School’s a Gift not-for-profit went live with it’s brand new website and Facebook page a few weeks ago. In time for Christmas and the spirit of giving, the charity hopes to raise funds for education of under privileged kids in Ethiopia.

From School’s a Gift:

School’s A Gift is a not-for-profit organisation with the goal of increasing school enrolment and attendance in deprived areas of the developing world, with an emphasis on providing equal educational opportunities for girls and boys. School’s A Gift is currently focussed on supporting schools in a remote region of Ethiopia.

Using a very simple design, the website focuses on the kids in need, the kids you’ll hopefully be helping via the donate page!

Olas de Oro Villas gets a new website!

The website of Olas de Oro Villas was recently upgraded.

The new website includes a nifty featured property slider, handy grid display of each available property, google map locating each property, TripAdvisor Badge and Reviews, property search box and a German landing page or Google translate option.

Also new are the photos, carefully taken by Cabarete Web Design to showcase the uniqueness and beauty of each villa/apartment.

Included in the overhaul was a Facebook page to connect and interact with fans.

The DREAM Project on Facebook

After a major update of The DREAM Project’s website earlier this year, their social media presence, and especially Facebook, needed an update.

With several custom tabs and apps, The DREAM Project’s Facebook page is more like a mini website now. A place where fans can connect with DREAM and even donate. Like them!

Brands and Businesses on Google+

Although it’s early days, Google+ has now opened for brands and businesses.

I’ve created a Google+ page for Cabarete Web Design here. There is much to learn and the pages have a long way to go before they get anywhere near the reach of a Facebook page. However, I’ve found it important enough to include in my social media marketing packages as the easier it is for a customer to connect with your business, the greater the chance they will.

FEDOSURF on Facebook and Twitter

The Dominican Surfing Federation, FEDOSURF, has just signed on for one of our Social Media Plans. In preparation for a new website, FEDOSURF wanted to extend it’s reach within the local Dominican community and the worldwide surfing community. With several Dominican surfers competing in the USA, we launched the page just over a week ago, to capitalise on the attention focused on them and the rest of the Dominican surfing community.

The page features several custom tabs: Supporters of FEDOSURF, Youtube, Twitter and a News feed to showcase the new website feed.

Kite Club Cafe on Facebook and Twitter

In an increasing number of Facebook and Social Media clients, Kite Club Cafe have joined us again for a Social Media Marketing Plan. Their Facebook Page features several customised tabs including a TripAdvisor tab and icon, Cabarete Wind and Webcam tab and, what is known as a “like-gate” or “fan-gate,” Our Menu tab. A “fan-gate” is a page where content is hidden to non fans, who are usually encouraged to “Like” the page to see the content. In the case of Kite Club Cafe, the “fan-gate” reveals the menu. The menu is dine in, to go or for delivery, so while people are “working” they can be browsing Facebook and find a tasty meal or snack for themselves to eat in, pick up or have delivered at lunch time!
